In 1986, Richard Rogers' Llloyds Building went head-to-head with Norman Foster's new headquarters for the Hong Kong & Shanghai Bank in the architectural journals.
Twenty one years later, the Lloyds Building is facing another Norman Foster office design, the Willis Building, only yards across Lime Street, London EC3.
