Musicman Sabre

Up | Next

My regular gigging instrument is a 1980-ish Musicman Sabre which I've had for over ten years now.

It's enormously reliable, barely needs tuning from week to week and seems to have almost infinite sustain. The active circuitry means it packs a hell of a punch when needed.

I remember the salesman in London's Denmark Street telling me that it had previously belonged to the bass-playing brother of a well-known British jazz guitarist but, somewhat annoyingly, for the life of me I can't remember his name.
