1967 Hofner Verithin guitar

I'm rather attached to this bass for two reasons: it was my first bass and it's exactly the same age as me.

It has that 'all middle and not much else' sound characteristic of many 1960s basses and shares much of the same electrical set-up as the more famous 'Beatle bass' popularised by Paul McCartney.

Being a hollow-body, the sustain isn't fantastic, but it's light enough to chuck around on stage like a guitar and I think it looks fab!

One other thing it will do that none of my other basses will is to permit me to get some enormous bass feedback when I want to - great for a low, menacing drone in those passages where you're not playing notes.
